A powerful urban sound is emerging from Dakar, Senegal - Guiss Guiss Bou Bess is a groundbreaking live group that fuses electronic music with the deep traditions of Senegalese culture creating an electrifying and immersive live experience unlike anything else.
Formed by singer, slammer, and percussionist Mara Seck, French beat-maker Stéphane Costantini, and master sabar percussionist Papa Assane Samba, the group blends dance, percussion, spirituality, costume, and hypnotic rhythms into a bold and contemporary celebration of Senegalese identity.
At the heart of this unique musical experience is the sabar — Senegal’s iconic percussion tradition — transformed through electronic textures into a vibrant, high-energy sound that bridges tradition and innovation, ancestry and futurism.
