The cutting-edge Colombian salsa dura ensemble La Pambelé unites with core members of Canada’s own Legaia Salsa Brava to deliver a rich vintage sound that embodies the essence of heavy Colombian guaguanco and salsa brava — uniting influences from the golden age of 70s salsa with the Afro-Antillean rhythms that flow from the Colombian coasts to the capital of Bogotá, Inspired by legends such as Eddie Palmieri, Edy Martínez and Ismael Miranda, La Pambelé has emerged as a leading force in Colombia’s tropical and alternative music scenes, honoring the past while providing a progressive vision of salsa’s future through songs about love, resistance and cultural identity.
