Hailing from Ovejas-Suceron, Colombia’s interior Caribbean coast, Los Gaiteros de Ovejas (LGDO) is a six-piece ensemble playing in the sound of the ancestral indigenous Gaita and percussion instruments. For the last 35 years the group has composed their own songs, achieving a wonderful and authentic combination of traditional rhythm of cumbia, porro, currulao and everyday stories that happen in their town and in the countryside.
Since 2017, the group has collaborated with Arcade Fire and Bomba Estereo, among other Colombian artists, DJs and producers, and has been selected for official showcases around the globe.
