About the Event

Grandmother Francine Payer ANISHANABE KWE

Francine is of the Turtle clan, a grandmother, great-grandmother, and respected Elder of the community. She is a keeper of traditional wisdom, a medicine woman, Pipe carrier, and water and environmental activist, she is a Water Walker for more than 2 decades. Francine works within the school system working with the students and supporting teachers and administrative staff with the aboriginal curriculum and teaching.  Her focus includes Water teachings, traditional songs and teachings of the drum, relationship with all life, rites of passage and the 13 Moons. She is the founder and president of the Cercle Sacré Anishinabe Sacred Circle and co-founder of the International Council of Grandmothers of the Moondance.  We can say that her involvement in the community, her spiritual approach and her dedication to Water makes her an authentic Anishinabe kwe grandmother and one that walks her talk.

In her professional life, she is a naturopath with a certification in holistic nutrition, iridology, aromatherapy and spiritual coach.
