SESSION 5: LUCAS HANEMAN

A performer with an ear so keen that he could sit in with any musician in the Jazz, Blues, Folk, Country or Rock genres, with no sheet music, and no rehearsal, and still play as if he'd known the material for days, this is a trait that defines Lucas Haneman.

Born with ROP (a visual impairment meaning Retinopathy of Prematurity), Lucas has always exhibited a unique ability to listen, and a musicality shared by only the top tier of musicians worldwide.  A unique and strong human being, he defies expectations, never satisfied to rest on his laurels, always reaching for the next artistic opportunity. A truly gifted musician with an unmistakable voice on the acoustic and electric guitar. "Lucas has been described by one sound engineer as “the greatest guitarist I have heard.” Think Eric Clapton in his youth and at his best and you will understand this statement. Simple blues riffs or driving soaring guitar solos are accomplished with equal skill.” Rory Stanbridge (FATEA Magazine UK).  Since that review in December 2016, Lucas has acquired a 2020 Sapphire Video Award, a 2019 top 5 Album on the Canadian “Roots Music Report", and a 2018 nomination for “Best New Act” at the Maple Blues Awards. Haneman has released 4 full length albums to date, and is currently working on 3 more.
